AMPEX ANNOUNCES RELEASE DATE OF
THIRD QUARTER 2007 FINANCIAL RESULTS

 REDWOOD CITY, Calif., October 31, 2007– Ampex Corporation (Nasdaq:AMPX) today announced that it intends to issue its preliminary unaudited third quarter 2007 earnings release to the press after the markets close on Wednesday, November 7, 2007.
