General Overview
Ampex® is seeking an IT Support Administrator who will play a key role in IT support for the organization, providing global support of Ampex’s IT infrastructure (Servers, Workstations, Phones, Services, Hosted Services, and Mobile Devices). This position will report directly to the VP, Programs and Operations.
In addition to IT support functions, the preferred candidate will support tasks with Windows and Linux with the ability to help test and support Ampex’s network-based data acquisition and file server products.
This position is to be filled onsite in Hayward, CA. No employer visa sponsorship is available.
Principle Duties
- Primary contact for end user issues and provides IT assistance and troubleshooting for our employees
- Support employees using remote access software, VPN server/client (Sonicwall experience a plus)
- Install and manage operating systems, applications, updates and patches (Linux, server and workstation, Windows 10/11)
- Troubleshooting, recovery and root cause analysis efforts
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures for application support and maintenance
- Maintaining a local area network and client system
- Understanding of low-level network protocols and routing
- Test scenarios and procedures for common file server use cases
- System configuration for network file systems, network time protocols, security protocols, user level access controls and diagnostic techniques
- Maintaining the production network test environment and engineering development systems
- Provide direct support for company IT personnel and the Director of IT
Qualifications
- Strong technical background in systems administration and software application support
- Experience with Microsoft Server and Microsoft server applications
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration
- Experience with Windows Network Administration (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy)
- Experience with Remote Desktop Services
- 3+ years of experience with Linux OS
- Basic knowledge of networking
- Experience installing IT hardware and software
- Experience with application integration, system integration test
- Experience with common scripting techniques
- Experience with JIRA a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and schedules
- Ability to work independently
- High Attention to detail
- 5+ years’ experience in Corporate IT support and administration
- HS diploma
- Must be U.S. Citizens – this position will be working directly on a contract with the U.S. Government, which requires all employees performing these functions be U.S. Citizens. This position is contingent on the applicant providing proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 (based on experience)
