PROGRAM MANAGER - Colorado Springs, CO

AMPEX is looking for a highly organized Program Manager to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Program Manager is responsible for the execution and quantitative management of Programs and Projects, and is the primary Customer point of contact for these development effort.

Principle Duties:

  • Manage and execute a Program or Project life cycle:
    • Initiate the Program or Project
    • Plan the Program or Project
    • Execute the Program or Project
      • Monitor, Control, and Report Progress
        • Project IMS (Plan vs. Actual)
        • Project Budgets (Plan vs. Actual)
      • Provide Oversight and Coordination
        • Staffing
        • Developed and Procured Hardware
        • Developed and Procured Software
      • Perform Project Risk Management
      • Perform Project Opportunity Management
    • Perform Project Close Out
  • Works with Associate Organizations to ensure Infrastructure is in place to successfully execute Projects (e.g. Facility, IT, Security).
  • Required travel to headquarters in Hayward, California, and other sites when needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years Program Management Experience
  • 5+ Years Control Account Management Experience
  • 5+ Years Earned Value Management Experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and Power Point
  • BS Degree or Equivalent experience
  • Excellent Communication skills both Written and Verbal
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance
  • Telecommuting for this position will be acceptable

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - Hayward, CA

AMPEX is looking for a highly skilled and organized Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team in developing leading data management solution products for aerospace applications. AMPEX provides a dynamic environment where you can apply your skills on a diversity of technical challenges. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

General Overview

AMPEX is seeking a candidate with experience in mechanical design and analysis of packaged circuit board assemblies. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment by understanding product requirements and effectively communicating design concepts and details to the team in documents and presentations.

Principle Duties:

  • Reports to Mechanical Design and Document Control Manager
  • Review of physical requirements imposed on the design object
  • Conceptual and finished design on a CAD system using solid modeling (Siemens NX)
  • Verify the ability to efficiently fabricate and assemble (DFM)
  • Produce fabrication drawings of piece parts and assembly drawings
  • Review dimensioning and tolerancing called out on drawings
  • Basic understanding of conductive and convective heat transfer as applied to design
  • Check and assembly of fabricated parts to verify the design
  • Develop work/assembly instructions for the Production Department
  • Develop and oversee environmental testing and reporting (thermal, humidity, altitude)

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related degree
  • 4 to 7 years experience in 3D CAD (NX preferred) design
